danger
  • If a problem occurs during the update from version 2.1.X to 2.2.X, it will not be possible to remove the system. The update will have to be finished, or the backup of the files will have to be restored, before the removal.

  • SoftExpert is not responsible for managing the databases.

  1. Access the installation tool directory, as described in the Update package preparation topic.
  2. Extract the update package files and execute the TOOL-2.2.X-WINDOWS.exe file.
  3. On the SoftExpert Suite installer welcome screen, click on Next.
  4. On the Operation Type screen, click on the Update button to update SoftExpert Suite.
  5. On the Select Package screen, the update tool will automatically identify and choose the update package that was downloaded in the Update package preparation step.

Wait for the tool to automatically validate the package; the status of this step can be checked on the progress bar. Click on Next.

danger

It is important for both the update tool and package to be in the same directory in order for the tool to identify where the update files are and proceed with the process normally.

  1. In the Environment check step, the password of the IIS user used for the SoftExpert Suite permissions will be requested. Fill in the field with the password and click on Next.
  2. The update procedure is executed on the Performing System Update screen. Wait for this step to finish and click on Next.
danger

The update process will equalize all the databases configured for SoftExpert Suite. If any error occurs during the database update process, you must:

  • Execute sesuite/tools/configurator/run.bat.

  • Select the database and click on the update button. Execute this item for all the configured databases, if there is more than one.

caution

This step will not be executed in the case of a 4th-digit update.

  1. On the SoftExpert Suite update completion screen, click on Finish.
caution
  • We recommend restarting the services in order to ensure that any information in the PHP cache is reset.

  • During the SoftExpert Suite service startup, the requirements will be checked. If a requirement does not meet the system usage, the checker will display a message to indicate the configuration that needs to be resolved. See the Additional procedures > Troubleshooting > Requirements check section in the Installation Guide for details on how to troubleshoot the main configuration issues.

ATTENTION

Remove the CD-Keys from the system whenever their validity expires and/or they are no longer used, leaving active keys only. Such removal is required to make it possible to validate and activate the system. Whenever a new license key is generated for a customer, the former ones are removed from the CRM. If a license that is not in our CRM is used, the system will not be activated.

caution

The SoftExpert Suite activation process occurs after the license key is inserted in the SoftExpert Configuration component. Refer to the "SoftExpert Suite - Installation Guide - (Windows)" document, "Post-installation activities" section, for further details.
