Synchronizing the SoftExpert Suite user database with the directory service

User synchronization in SoftExpert Suite is carried out using the LDAP protocol; information from the directory service is replicated to the SoftExpert Suite internal database. This process creates user accounts based on information from the directory service, updates data for existing users, and deactivates those that are no longer in the directory.

The following user data is synchronized with the directory service in SoftExpert Suite:

  • ID # in domain controller
  • Name
  • ID
  • Login
  • E-mail
  • Access group
  • Department description and ID #
  • Position description and ID #
  • Team and leader description and ID #¹.

Additionally, during the synchronization process, some data is populated statically, based on the initial parameters defined in the domain configuration. This data includes:

  • Language
  • Multiple login activation
  • Maximum number of simultaneous connections
  • User activation
  • User blocking
  • Department activation
  • Position activation
  • Default access group
caution

⚠️ Attention:

  • The SoftExpert Suite synchronization process does not make changes to the directory service. It simply reads the data provided by the service and makes changes exclusively to the SoftExpert Suite internal database.
  • Users removed or inactivated in the directory service are not deleted from the SoftExpert Suite database. Instead, these users' status changes to "Disabled."
  • ¹The "Synchronize leader" option only establishes a link between the user and their leader if both are on the list of users coming from the directory service. Therefore, the filters and directories specified in the domain controller connection configuration in order for this feature to be used.
