Available infrastructure

In order for SoftExpert Excellence Suite to be used, it must be published on a server. Below is a list of different ways to make the solution available, according to customers' needs.

Cloud modality (SaaS)

The solution is sold as a cloud service including licensing and infrastructure. Under this condition, access to the solution is provided in accordance with the contracted number of users.

The solution is hosted in the SoftExpert Datacenter (Amazon AWS) running on Linux. The whole infrastructure is managed by the SoftExpert team, so it does not require the customer's IT team to be involved in the management of the environment.

License acquisition + Hosting modality

Under this condition, the license is sold through a traditional model and the infrastructure is paid for as a service, in accordance with the contracted number of users.

Similarly to the Cloud model, the solution is hosted in the SoftExpert Datacenter (Amazon AWS) running on Linux. The whole infrastructure is managed by the SoftExpert team.

License acquisition + on-premise installation modality

Under this condition, the customer acquires the usage license and installs the product in their own datacenter, managed by their IT team. The application of system update and maintenance packages is the customer's responsibility.

We recommend contracting RSA (Remote System Administration), which allows all the technical administration (IT) of SoftExpert Suite to be performed remotely by the SoftExpert team. (Refer to the service catalog for further details).

For an assessment of the most suitable server to support the product, the number of acquired licenses must be the basis. In the Hardware (Servers) section, you can identify the ideal application server size to support SoftExpert Suite.

warning
  • We recommend that the application server be dedicated to SoftExpert Suite only. See the validated operating systems, as well as their characteristics and restrictions, in the Operating system (Servers) section.

  • We recommend that the database server be a database-dedicated one. If the customer already has a database server, it can be used to host the SoftExpert Suite database. See the validated database types, as well as their characteristics and restrictions, in the Database section.

  • It is possible to use several instances running on the same server, in accordance with hardware requirements, by resorting to the multiple-base feature with one single installation of the solution; however, there is no support to the installation of production and testing environments on the same server.
