Creating a MySQL data source

  Prerequisites:
Access to the Administration > **Configuration ** > Data source: Data source (AD047)
menu. Having a MySQL database installed and configured.

To create a MySQL data source in SoftExpert Suite, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to SoftExpert Suite and navigate to the Administration > Configuration > Data source: Data source (AD047) menu.
  2. Click on New to create a new data source.
  3. Choose the "MySQL" driver from the selection list.
  4. Enter the MySQL database connection information, including server name (Host), Port, Database name, username and password.
  5. Test the connection by clicking on the Default button.

If the connection is successful, you will receive a "Successful connection" message; click on save_exit to save and exit the MySQL data source.

Now you can use the MySQL data source in external attributes, in SoftExpert Analytics or in a dataset.

tip

Make sure that your SoftExpert Suite instance have access to the MySQL database, and that the credentials entered are correct. Additionally, it is recommended that you use a user account with the minimum permissions required to access the data you want.
