Authentication service

An authentication service acts in the process of validating the identity of a user in the request of a service. This procedure is usually based on credential exchange (passwords, certificates, etc.).

SAML

It is an authentication service that provides a safe communication mechanism for information exchange between different organizations (Customer, Identity provider, and Service provider).
