Testing the authentication in AD FS with SAML 2.0

To test authentication in AD FS with SAML 2.0 after performing all necessary configurations, follow these steps:

  1. Access SoftExpert Suite from a client station, not directly from the AD FS server or SoftExpert Suite server.
  2. On the SoftExpert Suite login screen, check that the "Single Sign-On" button is there. If it is not visible, check whether the SAML 2.0 option is checked in the authentication options of the Configuration component > Configuration > Authentication (CM008) > Authentication options.
  3. Click on the "Single Sign-On" button. This button indicates that SAML 2.0 authentication will be used.
  4. The user will be authenticated without having to enter their username and password on the login screen. These fields can be ignored.
  5. If this is the user's first login to the authentication service, they may be redirected to an authentication page of the service itself (AD FS). In this case, the user must log in to the service.
  6. After successful login, the user will be redirected back to SoftExpert Suite and authenticated into the system.

Make sure that the previous steps were followed correctly and that all settings were performed properly. If there are any problems during authentication, check the AD FS and SoftExpert Suite log records to identify possible errors.

⚠️ Attention:

  • Keep in mind that the authentication test must be performed from a client station, not from the AD FS server or the SoftExpert Suite server.
